QUALITY
We strive to undertake and leave each job with an excellent finish. – How we leave a job is one of the biggest reflections of our skill and ability. This does not only occur when we leave the job but starts from the moment we step on site. It is reflected in how we treat the customers, how we think about and plan a job before doing it, how we clean up after ourselves, each job is left as tidy or tidier than when we started, which leaves an excellent result.
COMMUNICATION
We believe that open communication is key to managing and maintaining good relationships - This is probably the most important factor of our values. With good communication we will ensure that nothing is overlooked, we can ensure that customers are happy before we invoice them, and we can ensure that no issues arise from miscommunications or assumptions..
HONESTY
We always strive to be honest, as we are only as good as our word – Being honest in everything we do builds a character and a company that people can trust. People will see from our actions that we are trustworthy and are true to our word. This will ensure people will continue to work with us into the future.
ATTITUDE
We believe that having a good attitude is the key to doing a successful job and know that how we approach a job will determine its success – Our attitude and how we deal with situations is what helps us be great. Having a mindset of getting the job done in the best possible way, looking for solutions rather than problems, and not taking shortcuts to achieve this is what matters.
PRESENTATION
We believe that our standard of dress and our personal appearance reflects our high standard of work – First impressions really do matter, and we want to ensure that we present ourselves in such a way as to leave no doubt that we are as amazing as we look. This is achieved in a few ways, from uniforms, to personal grooming, to vehicle tidiness, both inside and out, to turning up on time to the job. This aspect gives the company a professional image, which results in us standing out from the rest.Peter started working as an assistant electrician with a local residential electrician while still in school at 16.
Upon finishing High school he started his apprenticeship with one of Auckland’s largest commercial electrical companies, where he got a range of experience from small maintenance jobs, to working on some of the biggest commercial jobs around Auckland. During this time he completed his Certificate in Electrical Engineering Level 4 at ETCO where he finished in the top 10% of his class for both his trade and regulations exams, becoming a fully qualified and registered electrician at 21.
After that Peter worked for 5 years with a small residential electrical company in west Auckland, where he worked on many projects from small maintenance work, to the design and work on new builds start to finish, including working on new alarm and AV systems.
At 26 Peter was head hunted for the position of Head Electrician at New Zealand’s biggest high wall heat pump installation company. Here he was in charge of making sure the team did a great job every time out in the field and maintaining team moral in a management position, as well as wiring an average of 4 heat pumps a day. After 4 years here Peter decided he needed a greater challenge and founded Simpson Electrical Ltd in Feb 2016.
